Join The Movement
Action for Happiness Hubs are places where a committed
group of volunteers work together regularly to spread
Action for Happiness ideas and resources in their local
area. They engage with local partners, including schools,
health services and community groups through
networking, events and campaigns.
What we do - we’re a volunteer-led hub dedicated to promoting
positive mental wellbeing through community action. By
supporting Champions, Volunteers and the Community of Practice
(CoP), we help individuals, organisations and communities to
create a happier, healthier and kinder Northamptonshire.
Our Approach:
- Evidence-Based Wellbeing – Guided by the 10 Keys to
Happier Living, we provide simple, actionable steps to improve
emotional well-being. - Community-Led Action – Empowering volunteers and
champions to inspire change and lead well-being initiatives in
their local communities. - Collaboration & Learning – Fostering shared growth and
connection through our Community of Practice, where ideas
and resources are exchanged.

How We Work
Why It Matters - Creating a happier, kinder world starts with
empowering people to take action. We support individuals
and communities through training, collaboration, and shared
learning, helping to embed well-being in everyday life.
What We Do
- Champions Training - we equip well-being advocates
with the skills to have Happier Conversations and inspire
positive change in their communities. - Volunteer Training - we train volunteers to support local
events, run groups, and deliver Happiness Habits courses,
helping well-being reach more people. - Community of Practice - we create space for our
community to connect, share knowledge, and collaborate
—ensuring ongoing learning and impact.
Champions
Who Are Champions? – Champions are trained well-being
advocates who inspire positive change and empower their
communities to live happier, healthier lives.
What Champions Do?
- Lead Local Wellbeing Initiatives – Organise and run
projects such as Happiness Habits Courses, Happy Cafés,
and well-being workshops. - Encourage Behaviour Change – Motivate and guide others
to adopt the 10 Keys to Happier Living through simple,
evidence-based actions. - Support Others in Their Wellbeing Journey – Act as a
trusted point of contact, offering encouragement and
signposting people to helpful resources.
Volunteers
Who Can Volunteer? – Anyone with a passion for well-being
and community can get involved. Whether you have a little
time or a lot, your contribution can make a meaningful
difference in spreading happiness and supporting others.
Ways to Get Involved:
- Support a Group, Course, or event – Help create safe and
welcoming spaces where people can connect, learn and
grow. - Run Events & Workshops – Assist with organising or
delivering activities that promote the 10 Keys to Happier
Living in your local area. - Spread Awareness in Your Community – Share resources,
ideas, and positive actions to inspire those around you.
Community of Practice
What is the CoP? – The Community of Practice (CoP) is a
collaborative space where well-being leaders, volunteers, and
professionals share knowledge and resources to inspire action
and create positive change.
Thematic Areas:
- Men’s Wellbeing – Supporting men’s mental health and
reducing stigma. - Children & Young People’s Wellbeing – Promoting resilience
and emotional well-being. - Organisational Wellbeing – Embedding well-being into
workplace culture. - Volunteer & Champion-led Well-being – Empowering
grassroots initiatives and community action.
Resource Library
What is it? - The Resource Library is a collection of resources
designed to inspire and support happiness and well-being.
Created with input from our Community of Practice, it’s your go-
to hub for practical resources and information.
